Day 22
Today was a pretty free day, did a bit of shopping and got my suit fitted before going out to eat at a BBQ Grill house.
Andy and I also booked a visit to the Aquarium for tomorrow.
Day 23
We got up and checked out at 11 and got a taxi to the centre of bangkok. There are 4 huge shopping centres here, one full of expensive shops, one food, one was closed and the other was full of smaller shops and market stalls.
We went into the food one as the aquarium was in there and went to the basement level where it was. We walked around the aquarium for about an hour and had a glass bottom boat tour over the biggest tank, which wasn't that big and the woman talking about the tank and the fish in it got far too excited when a shark or ray swam under the 2 ft long bit of glass we had to look through. After that we got to see a 3d animated movie about some turtles which had moving seats and splashing water effects.
After the aquarium we walked through the MBK Centre (the market stall one) to see what there was before heading back to the hotel to eat before our overnight bus picked us up.
This overnight bus was much more spacious and bright pink inside.
Day 24 - 26
We arrived at a ferry port at about 5am and got breakfast and a ferry to Koh Samui island. We got to the hotel at about 10.30 and walked around for a bit to see what was about before getting lunch. Andy and I then walked up and down the beach to see what was around there. We went back to the room for 2 hours rest before going out for dinner.
The following day we spent the morning on the beach and then went to a 'football golf' course, we were told it was about 5 pounds each but turned out it was 12 so we came back, the 18 hole course was just mini-golf sized but with a football, not what we were expecting either. It was back to the hotel before eating out again, this time Ryan, Andy, Chris and me went to an all you can eat ribs + chicken restaurant, which cost just 8 pounds per person with a free drink and roast potatoes.
The next day Andy and I had booked a day trip snorkeling and sea kayaking around the islands. Some others did scuba diving but it was closer to 100 pounds per person to do it so we didn't. We did kayaking in the morning around a few smaller islands and then went to an inland lagoon on another island and did snorkerling around that island (not in the lagoon).
We arrived back at 6pm (11 hours after we left) and took a walk down the main street to get some food and last minute shopping before our day travelling to Malaysia tomorrow, we leave at 6.30am and arrive in Penang at 8pm.
