Day 3 in Paris. Still having trouble staying up past 8.30pm at night.... But then we end up waking at 5.30 - 6 am. So it was a leisurely morning having breakfast and writing the blog before heading off to the Louvre. This time the Metro app got us there without any hitches. Thinking that a Monday morning would be less crowded, was a mistake. Thanks to self serve ticket kiosks the queue wasn't too long. While the self serve caper is convenient, there is one major draw back ..... That is the opportunity to once gain try my Aussie French out on the unsuspecting customer service staff... 2 billets pour visiter le musée du Louvre cobber!
Apart from the magnificent artworks, the other thing that amazes me about visitors to the Louvre is the infatuation with the Mona Lisa. The painting is small and covered in perspex (I assume so people don't throw paint, acid or spit on her). There would that've to be at least 30 people deep standing in front of the railing. Luckily by the time I pushed to about 10 deep there were some smaller statutes Asian people in front and I was able to get a quck photo before a Harlem Globetrotter pushed in front.
