Last night we headed off to the world famous 'Hooters' where all the girls wear orange Hotpants (!) Rachel tolerated it, and I loved it!! Then found a great little Italian restaurant for dinner, Food was amazing, service was great. It slowly dawned on us that it was a gay bar, but hey ho This IS NY!!!
Today we went to '52nd street Diner' for what we thought would be breakfast. It turned out to be our life's supply of belgian waffle! They were bigger than our heads! Yummy :)
After dragging ourselves up from our booth, we staggered our way up to Central Park, and found the Ice rink. We donned our skates and took to the ice like a duck to ice! We some how managed to not fall over and made it round the rink a few times successfully and decided to quit while ahead. We then headed north thru the park and saw the fountain from Friends. All the ponds/lakes in the park were starting to freeze over, but we thought we'd done enough skating for one day :)
We caught a bus uptown to the Apollo Theatre Harlem. We just missed the last tour, but had a good browse around the foyer, looking at all the pictures of famous stars who started out there, like Elle Fitze-Gerald, Michael Jackson, James Brown and so many more to mention.
We found the best restaurant this evening, the 'Country Grill' we managed to eat about 10% of our meal... the portions are just unbeleivably Huge. Rachel got a doggy bag :o
Took a stroll down Broadway to times square and picked up a few souveneirs before catching a cab home (mad b*****s!)
Just off for a drink before bed, Fiji tomorrow! xx
