I haven't done a lot the last couple days... except try to recover from jet lag by stuffing myself with hagelslag, chocomel, and stroopwafels. Yesterday I spent forever and a half trying to sort out my new cell phone (the one Kyle sold me wasn't unlocked apparently), but after paying 45 euros.. I finally got a working phone, charger, and some air time.
My new number is 011-31-61-610-5898 or if you randomly happen to be calling from within Holland it's just 061-610-5898.
I also got my address.. so if you want to send me mail, message me and I'll give you the address!!!
Anyways, today it was finally sunny out.. it was actually a really nice day. So I went to the train station with Han and renewed my kortingskaart.. (70 euros), and then I biked to an atm and withdrew 300 euros to pay part of my rent that I owe tomorrow.. I owe over 1000 euros tomorrow, it's ridiculous. Rent is 450 euros/month.. pretty expensive.
It also never fails to amaze me how Dutch people can switch to English automatically, without thinking. For example, there was someone in front of us in line at the train station (een knappe jongen!).. and Han was making some joke about this hats with trains on that they were selling, and the guy in front of us automatically joined in the conversation in English, without any hesitation. I wish my Dutch was that good! (Although I did successfully buy a bottle of wine - and have it gift wrapped - in Dutch today, although my experience at the Albert Heijn was not so successfully)
And of course, I went to feed the ducks today. I looked for George, and think I may have seen him hiding and sleeping in some bushes, but I couldn't get close enough to tell! I hope he hasn't been eaten by the swans yet! haha Morgen ga ik naar Tilburg! Tot straks!
