We are planning a three month holiday to Queensland this year.
We will be travelling with Julia's sister and husband from Casino, NSW and her brother and his wife from the UK.
Our trip may take about 3 months.
The highlight for us will be a 6 day sailing trip through the Whitsunday Islands.
I am preparing our VW Caddy for the trip. I had new tyres fitted today and have nearly completed a major service.
We bought boxes to carry everything we need on our trip.
We will carry a small stove to make a cup of tea on the way.
I have also made some containing boxes to make sure nothing can move during hard braking.
We have ordered a new Renault Trafic LWB Van but it will not be in Australia in time for our holiday.
I will convert the Renault Trafic into a campervan. I have bought insulation to start the conversion as soon as the vehicle arrives. Pity we can't take it on our journey.

Dick it works on PC and this tablet Arie. Just one thing, about fastening, you need to make sure absolutely nothing can fly through the vehicle when you make an emergency stop and don't forget rolling the car. I have seen major injuries from small accidents on the Caddy because things were not fastened correctly. We get these video's when we have the compulsary 2 yearly refresher cursus in the taxi branche. You would be amazed how much damage even little things can make. d***
dutchaussie Yes I know. In the early days of the Refinery I was driving a ute and had to stop suddenly because someone had dug a trench in the road. I had an explosimeter on the shelf behind me. It knocked me out when it hit my head. I was travelling at about 20 kM/Hour!
Dick you learned the hard way then...
Marina sounds like a long trip but exciting too, hope it all pans out for you
DutchAussie Thanks Marina.
