I haven't really taken many pictures of the Cities on my travels and Wellington is no exception. Wellington is not a bad place - it is New Zealands Capital and the Te Papa musuem is pretty good for some Mauri Culture and a history lesson on the Treaty signed between the natives and the English. The Treaty of Waitanga related to the united tribes of New Zealand and the Queen of England. Anyway, there are better places to visit.
So, Napier is the next destination - Art Deco Capital of the world - a town levelled by an earth quake in 1931 and rebuilt in the Art Deco Style. On the way there I am made to feel a complete tourist viewing some live endangered kiwi's behind a glass window but salvation comes in the form of Tui Brewery where I got 3 pints for 2 dollars! Happy days! When I realised some bright spark had come up with the noval idea of turning an old prison into a backpackers I knew I had to stay there! A converted prison complete with barb wire covered walls, Cells, Infirmary (whre I stayed), remard huts, death row, hanging yard, pound, detox, wardens huts and prison yard etc! (yes I was obsessed with Prison Break on TV). When posing for a particular picture in a cell my kind fellow travelers locked me in! Still revenge was had twice fold! LOL Entertainment in Napier came in the form of a winery tour of 6 vinyards in one day around Hawkes Bay which resulted in me falling asleep on the beach for 2 hours in the afternoon! (sometimes life is so hard!) I nearly brought an expensive bottle but felt I couldn't possibly drink anymore wine by the time evening came round!
