New York City, New York
Our first stop on our tour of the states was New York City, the Big Apple. We flew into JFK and was thrown straight into the deep end when we had to get the famous underground of New York City. We eventually got to our stop and after a short walk from the station, we walked upon Time Square in all its glory, it was a quite stunning with a real buzz about it, with it being St Patricks Day and all.
Our hostel was just around the corner from Time Square, a great location to see NYC. Waiting for us at our hostel was Dan, Joe, Doweller and Dixon who flew in the day before us. Once we and settled and got our rooms, we headed straight out on the town to help St paddy to celebrate. Of course we found the first Irish bar we could and that was not hard. Later we met up with an old buddy from our previous travels and he gave us a tour of the night life around NYC. But one thing and i noticed, is they really do like the english accent over here......
During the rest of our time in NYC we were very busy seeing te sights of New York, loads of walking around town, our first full day was spent going over to Staten Island and seeing the Statue of Liberty in the process and once over in Staten we were given an unbelievable view of the New York skyline, amazing view and one i had been waiting for. Once back on land we walked over to Ground Zero, which was a very erie place one i cant really explain. The rest of the days was spent exploring the city seeing the sights and shops.
The next day was Joes birthday, not a bad place to have it really, again we explored the city ..... more to follow
