We had a smooth flight to Portugal and picked up our rental car and off to our hotel Alte. we got up and went from town to town seeing all types of castles and fortesses and eventually we went to our beautiful hotel in Evoria where we toured the house of bones. which was very eerie with all the bones holding up the walls. We headed off to more sightseeing and then went to our hotel in Fatima which is a very spirutual place where three children in 1916 saw the virgin Mary. People flock from all over the world just to walk the path to the church We saw one lady crawling and praying for about 1000 ft just to reach the tombs of these 3 children and the mother Mary. Our next stop was the town where the monks used to live. The guard on duty said when he worked nights all alone he thought their ghost were following him around. We stayed the night in Obedius with a fortress you could walk along the top like the wall of China. There was a whole town inside it. We then moved on to Sintra where we took a bus tour from the mountains to the beaches. We then went to our hotel in Lisbon for 2 nights. We took another bus tour around Lisbon and saw just how big it was. We walked through the town with many tourist traps. We went to the beach and saw just how much they cherish their football with a huge screen in the plaza to watch the Euro Cup. Their were lots of outside cafes and Tapas bars. We walked a lot of klms those two days. We left lisbon and went to a few beaches alonf the coast before going back to the Alte Hotel.
We are staying the last week in an apartment just outside of Faro where we are spending most of the time at the beutiful beach which we have to go down to about 150 steps and back up again.(good for the heart). We spend most of the time suntanning but we do walk
the length of the beach each day. We are averaging about 10,000 steps every day.
We are going to watch the german football game tonight at Siegried and Hildas all inclusive hotel. We then fly back to Germany tommorrow for 10 days
