One year with no football! How will they survive?
Hey guys and girls
We arrived here 2 days ago and have not really done much on the Cultural side to be fair. We have done a lot of shopping though, mainly window shopping, but it is remarkable how much this place looks like England. They have the same Stagecoach busses that they have in the north of England (The White ones with the red, blue and orange stripes) and they have Connex trains, those are two minor examples.
On Thursday, when we arrived, we went shopping and went to the Cinema, we saw Nacho Libre, which we strongly recommend seeing. After that, we went to Nando's for nostalgic reasons!!
Yesterday, we went to Devonport, a nice little suburb of Auckland across the water. It had the reputation of having incredible fish and chips and it certainly lived up to it, especially the chips, they were incredible! When we got back, Dubs went to the Sky Tower, Cess wasn't very well, shes gpt an itchy rash all over her body and has been sick a couple of times!
Today, we went to the doctors to sort out cps rashes at last as she was not feeling to well in Fiji either.
The main cultural event of the day, and of Auckland in general was our trip to the Auckland Museum which was divided into three floors. The bottom floor had Maori history within Auckland and the rest of New Zealand, the middle floor had an exhibit on Volcanoes and a Childrens exhibition alongside a Natural History section, not as good as the Natural History Museum in London but we weren't complaining!
Seep was still feelin ill so she declined the chance to watch a superb exhibition of Rugby, admittedly she was feeling exhausted and was not up for a long night as we will be travelling for the best part of the morning tomorrow!
We hope you are all well back home, we are missing you loads
Dubs and Cess
