Good day folks!
Another beautiful day in Barcelona, Spain. Partly cloudy and a balmy 27 degrees Celsius. The heat won't be a problem though as the odd sun shower will cool you off.
Metro lines are all running smoothly between stations and the gap is not a problem with these trains at all.
Don't forget to stop by the 'Camp Nou' mega store and pick yourself up a Barcelona FC jersey! They are selling like hotcakes and at a mere 81 euro who can resist the temptation!
Maybe a trip to the Sagrada Familia is in your itinerary? Well the report from the ground there is that the line up could be a block and a half long with expected delays in the range of forty-five min to an hour. So bring your long lens and snap a few shots of the exterior facades. Construction of this iconic building is expected to be complete in another 10-15 years.
Now i know there are some of you out there who are put off by the big city life of Barcelona. Spain has room for you in the quaint little town of Oropesa. Just a short two and a half hour jont to the south more beaches and fine food awaits you there. An open air theatre is set up each evening on the beach for all the community to enjoy. That should do you for a days travels. Who knows what tomorrow may bring!

Gord. Nice blog Dan, who's your ghost writer? It was a balmy 29c yesterday when we were sweating our bits off playing soccer. Taking of which - please be sure to pop to the Nou Camp and touch the Champions League trophy and bring back some cup winning luck for the team! 81 euro's is a bit steep for a jersey but still cheaper than the Calgary prices by about $10 - does 81 euros include printing? if not then they are pricey - they are only 54 euros in the UK!! The Sagrada Familia was under construction last time I was there over 12 years ago - same firm are working on the Deerfoot I believe! No trip to Barcelona is complete without some sampling of the traditional dish - so where is the damn Piella Dan?
dan That's Paella btw.....A German tourist suggested i try one and i did tonight....soooo good....i did visit Nou and i have some Champions league luck in my pocket.......I will wear the Barcelona away jersey under my Ranger one for the next game i play.....i thought you guys were still winning?
Gordon macdonald Your right! Paella. What else did your German guide suggest?!! So long as you don't end up in some Hostel with attractive females - you know its only a hop skip and a jump into the next chapter of a horror movie....haha Yes still winning - but when you come back we will have run out of our own luck
