I have never been anywhere as alien as Vietnam. Hanoi is amazing, the hustle and bustle of this city doesn't seem to fit its laid back way to life. Millions of scooters rush around with up to four people on at a time like scholls of fish nipping around corners. There are no traffic lights and no pavements to walk on. It took me twenty minutes to cross the road the first time and an old lady had to help me. The best thing about Vietnam has to be the food. It's incredible and so fresh. They people are very friendly, I stayed in a family run hotel and they were so hospitable I was very pleased. I met a couple of Bristolians (had to happen sooner or later) Henry and his fioncee whos name I cant remember. A couple of aussies and loads of other nice people. Staying Halong bay on a boat was breathtaking. The florescent algie makes peeing off the boat magical. Any how wont bore you with too much more but am now back to bangkok for some suits then heading to Kao toa.
