Where in the world am I going? Sitting here t minus 1 week and 9 hours from departure, the question that everyone is asking is where's Montenegro?
Montenegro is a tiny country that has only existed on it's own since 2006 and is just south of Croatia in the now (mostly) peaceful Balkans. If you want less specificity but an easier reference point, it's across the water from Italy on the right hand side if you're looking down from the moon.
Why Montenegro?
It's quite unexplored and everyone loves an adventure! There's whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, cliff jumping, hiking, kite surfing, scuba diving and plenty of chillaxing too! Everything an adrenaline junky English teacher could want on his hard earned break.
Why on my own?
On your own is the best way to do it! Not that I'm selfish, but I get to do what I want when I want. Although I don't see my mates for a couple of weeks, I make some brilliant new ones. I now have places I can crash from Bolton - not the prettiest- to Australia ( definitely on the wish list), Bristol to Finland and Canada too! I had new year with my aussie friends and got to show them around the most beautiful country on earth (Scotland) and I'm hoping they'll show me Melbourne in return.
Right, it's late, i'm rambling and it is the last day of school tomorrow. Must get beauty sleep and prepare to bid farewell to the students.
Ps
The challenge is to find accomodation when I'm there. Could have a few nights on the beach (here's hoping).
