Hi Drew and Emi. I see you are on the move again! I just wanted to thank you guys for the calendar for 2006! I just found it today!! Jerry didn't realize what it was I guess when you sent it, and forgot to tell me and just put it up. I love it and all the pictures are so nice! Keep safe and I'm looking forward to more pictures. We are anxious for the new babies to come. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Love, Tisha

Hi Drew & Emi-
I went to school with Sophie and I've been following your adventure (with much envy I'll admit!). Anyway, I wanted to answer your picture quiz - that looks like a gas station to me - very strange one at that! Thanks for posting your adventure on this site, I would never see all these different parts of the world otherwise! Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Mike And Kristy
Hey Kids! We just checked out your site, and we gotta say it is pretty freakin' amazing! Wish we could join you. I'm sure this trip will give you quite a repertoire of great stories for years to come.
Looks like Kristy and I are going to be tying the knot this Spring! I proposed to her up in Whistler (which also allowed me to get some riding in, heh-heh...) You guys will be invited, of course. Take Care!

Well, it looks like Tom, my friend since childhood, wins the quiz, but perhaps I should have broadened the restrictions? Since Tom's wife is from Taiwan and he has been there several times now, I suspect he has seen a similar gas station there....Or maybe he is just really smart :o) When space is an issue, it certainly makes sense to dispense the gasoline from above (see the hoses hanging and the screens in the upper right that display how much is dispensed) and eliminate the pumps that we are all used to seeing and driving around. There are very few gas stations here with pumps as we know them. Thanks for playing and tracking our progress - we really enjoy getting/reading the messages. Bye for now.

Hi Emi and Drew, Again love your pictures. I'm anxious to go to Japan at the end of next summer. Is your picture a Taxie stand or car wash? Love, Tisha
Tom
Is it a gas station?

Hey Guys,
It's great to see your photos... it brings back so many memories. Your pictures of Everest are awesome...when I was there, it was cloudy and snowing and the route to Gokyo was a bit hazardous.
Bill and I are slaving away here at Ansoft and wishing we were either in Cape Town South Africa and /or Nepal.
Actually, for me, there has been too much traveling on the www roadshow and it's nice to be home for a bit. Shelly has some news.... can you guess?
Take care and be well. We'll be in Singapore on Jan 9-12 and in Korea a few days after Xmas. If you are close by... perhaps we can have some saki together.
Tom
P.S. Bill says hi and wants to know if you have any leads for him in the Eastern Region. Mike Cole finally got the Maxtor upgrade order. Thx
Joe
Drew and Emi: Thanks for uploading the pictures, for I didn't get to see that round in Japan. "When being full of s*** is a good thing" is an awesome caption as well as picture. Now I've a better idea of the Annapurna/Nepal trek--super! Great to see you two in Japan with Mark and assorted family and friends. I'm back in Montana, and it's taken a turn towards winter: plenty of snow on the Missions, not much on the ground yet. Glad you made it to Kyoto for the colors--and onto Osaka. Hope it was a good visit. Every round of pictures pushes me closer to the edge. Keep the pace and pictures coming, for you're on the most excellent of adventures. Onward...and peace. Joe

We had a nice couple of days in Kyoto and we are getting ready to head to Osaka this afternoon. The leaves are changing here in Kyoto and some of the Japanese maple trees that surround many of the temples are a glorious color of deep red. You'll see for yourself when we upload those pics, but there are still a few more from Nepal - should get caught up when we get to Emi's hometown in a few days. Bye for now.

How was the bus ride from Tokyo to Kyoto? I am glad the weather has been nice for you to see around.

I am keeping up with your adventures. Looks awesome. All is well in the neighborhood, your tenants come over alot for dinner... It has been a fabulous fall here. The eagles are flying and our red fox is back. We had a huge bull snake in the drive and lots of rabbits. We miss you,
Meredith, Jake, and Roxy
