Can't wait to see those Aussie pictures!. Glad to hear you're getting out and about. So many people arrive in Sydney and say they've seen Australia; a great place to visit but ... get out into the country. So much to see on the east coast -- Blue Mountains, Snowy's, then of course north up into Q'ld. Many great walks ... though no Mount Everests!

Hi Drew & Emi. Are they ginger roots for sale? I think I recognize one or two Chinese characters on the box but nothing that really says what's in there. Have you played a didgeridoo yet? How about a bull roarer?

Nicole(daughter) And I think they are speakers?
Love all the great pics. Both Nicoles say Hello and wish they could be there with you except for the rats and leeches. Take care

Hey All,
We are really enjoying West Australia. We rented a camper van for a week and drove to many cool spots along the coast (a total of 3,000 km...damn, it really is a big country!). We are headed to Sydney tonight and we'll likely rent a camper van again for a week since it was such an easy way to get around. Anyway, we posted new pics - just getting caught up from Malaysia. The Singapore and Aussie pics will follow. Oh, and there's a good quiz question.

Hey Drew and Emi!
Here a message from that Dutch guy who you where spending some days whit in the Taman Negara. It's a real nice site, some amazing foto's on it. My next trip has to be to Nepal according to your foto's. We arrived in Hanoi two days ago, and we are flighing back to Amsterdam in two more days. The tip about going by boat from Siem Reap to Battambang was a good one, we really enjoyed it:) It seems like your still having a good time on your trip. I'll keep checking youre website once in a while for some stories and great foto's. Good luck and keep on having fun on your journeys the comming months!
Dig the salt-'n-pepper fro Drew, and your summit photo is the bomb Emi! Wow, those pitcher plants are really cool, and what would a trip be without leeches??!! You guys are the envy of the world with this trip and website! Who the hell would want to even go back to work after living these events and seeing your photos??? Me, unfortunately, and I'll be moving to KitaKyushu to work at the university from mid-March onward. Will maintain the Montana place while in Kyushu, so if you need a respite when you get back to this hemisphere, you know the drill and the place is always open. Missed the quiz questions--sorry, but this last month has been a hissing blowtorch of stuff to do. I'm back on track and on your trail again...thank goodness. Flora, fauna, history, treks, climbs...remember that George Carlin once said, "Life isn't measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." Know you've had more than a few, and thanks for sharing so much with us. All is well----carry on.

Hi Drew and Emi! Love all the pictures. Looks like you're having a blast. Can't wait to hear all your stories. The snow is great here, but Naomi and I prefer living vicariously through your endless Summer. Drew, is that a 'fro?! Nice.

OK, now we have correct answers to all of the questions - rubber plantation, tsunami warning system and the aboriginee is making fire from items found only in the jungle. He cut a tapered hole in the wood that then collects dust particles and becomes ready to ignite from the friction due to the rope movement. The little ball of heated dust is then quickly placed into some larger "saw-dust" that is ignited by blowing on it in his hand. Finally, the little fire ball is placed under some sticks and a fire is born. BTW, we climbed Mt. Kinabalu (4095m) and our legs are really hurting - Nepal seems ancient history to us. We hope to post some new pics next week. Maybe we will have few questions. Bye for now. Drew and Emi

Hi Kids,
Looks like your enjoying the good life. Many interesting places you've been. So Drew, how's the beer in all those different countries? Hey, your tenants are doing fine. They've expanded their Chinchilla operation at the house and now have a total of 115 cages, 50 in the garage and 65 in the house. Good news, they will be harvesting their first set of fur soon! They said this will help pay next months rent. I might be able to get Yuki to sew something for you.
