As always your pictures were awesome. It is hard to beleive it has been almost a year. You picture of the salt flats look like petrified waves - if there is such a thing- I can't think of any thing else except the mineral deposits that have been in a wind storm! (ha) Love, Tisha

The answer to the quiz is family crypt that contains dead human bodies. Some you can see coffin thru windows, and often times there are stairs leading to basement. We would think you can store many coffins in years to come. Obviously these are for elite wealthy families. So Tom, Tisha, and Joe, you all are correct! I (Emi) was very surprised to see these structure in Recolleta Cemetary, Buenos Aires, and it was hard for me to grasp that these are really tombs. Tomb of Eva Paron, also known as Evita, is also found here. Many people still visit and leave flowers and respect.
Drew says he will post some pictures and quizes later, so stay tuned!
Joe
Hey Drew and Emi,
I'm with Tisha: I say they're mausoleums, similar to Japanese 'ohakaba', but these seem to be encased, above-ground structures. Great pictures, once again, and who's the couple you are (or were) traveling with? I know the one dude is your driver and guide, but the other couple?? Just had a microdiscectomy done over here for a herniated disc that decided to fly-out further than chiro or PT could deal with, but things are well. Rainy season started yesterday, and I'll get up to Tokyo to see Mark and Zoom's wiz-kid "Kotaro Kaden" at the beginning of July. Then it's back to the Big Sky for the summer. What a trip--keep 'er going!

A answer for your quiz. I think they are family Vaults or tombs. I'm anxious to see the new baby of Mark and Izumi. He is so cute. One week of school left for me and then I'm all done. I can't believe you have been gone a year! I imagine you have mixed feelings about going home and not traveling any more. zlove, Tisha

I have a quiz guess here so stop reading if you haven't seen the photo and don't want my guess to spoil your fun! Wow, even more beautiful and fascinating photos! I love telling friends and strangers about your travels. Has anyone suggested to you to write a book about this trip? Maybe even a DVD if you have been filming. I believe the structures in the quiz question are crypts containing human remains.

As you will see, we are still having fun. But we are looking forward to our return and to visiting with everyone to share our adventure even further. Bye for now.
