Day 11-20 Florida
Arrived in Florida and Connie treated us to a wonderful home-cooked meal. The 10 days just flew by-we walked every morning after breakfast for 70 minutes (except for the 3 days we golfed at 7:30 lol). We golfed with Archie and Connie at their course one day and had a great time. We have had beautiful weather while we were here, cool in the mornings (52-60) but most days it warmed up to low 70's. We shopped at the pink mall, Steve put up a shelf and coat hooks by the front door and Joyce, Steve and I put stained glass on the lanai door and window lights in the master bedroom. Our big treat was to have Verizon in to install FIOS tv, internet and phone-we are now in the 21st century! We cooked most of our meals in and would go out for soup and salad at lunch and enjoyed lots of fresh fruit and oj from Mixon's. Met Connie and Archie for a farewell supper at Bankok Tokoyo, a thai restaurant. We had an amazing meal and we ALL enjoyed lots of flavours. And yes, Steve and I tried it all except for Gordie's really spicy dish. We closed up the house on Thursday the 22 (Thanksgiving in the US) and headed to Fort Lauderdale. Our original hotel that we had booked was closed for renovations so they booked us at the Cambria Suites. It was a beautiful hotel, 10 minutes from the airport, large room with a separate living/kitchen area. It was a really nice way to start the second half of our adventure.
