Kars (Turkey) to Tbilisi(Georgia)
After yesterday a very civilised day a quick run over the mountains to the Georgian border. The Major had a bit of a "flurry" half way down one of the hills - he hit a patch of gravel on a corner. He did say and I quote "I was in total control at all times" however he used his stentorian tone which suggests a slightly different story. Finally into Tbilisi; I like this place they have a thriving café culture with some great bars and restaurants. The three of us had a sophisticated evening at one of the restaurants, table cloths, live chamber music and a good meal. I always feel this place is the last bastion of the western world so I took advantage with some rather good Georgian white wine - not a repeatable experience as I couldn't even say the name let alone spell it. We upset the waitress though as we ran out of local currency, my supposed mates scarpered leaving me to sort out the issue. I managed to find some cash but in my alcoholically induced stupor I ended up giving her a 1 Lari tip - we won't be invited there again.
