Bouillon (Belgium) to Lermoos (Austria)
Longish day 420 miles to Lermoos first part of the day went well, brilliant sunshine and good rolling ride through the French countryside. Then a huge chunk of motorway - but it was sunny so that's ok, temperatures were up to 17 deg - brill. Then we headed up into the mountains and within minutes the temperature had dropped to 3 degrees and it had started to rain - luckily the guest house is warm and welcoming.
No big problems on the run, which is not surprising given the quality of the GlobeBusters route notes, they've moved on a stage from the 2005 TransAm, they're in nice big type on individual folded sheets so you can easily fit them in the mapcase and they have the end long and lat coordinate, so short of your sat nav breaking down you know you'll get there - excellent. Slight problema with one of the 1200GS fuel gauges - registered full when empty - oops! left the rider sat at the side of the motorway; unfortunately, as we haven't instigated any hand signal protocol we all rode straight by him - double oops! Luckily Jeff the van man stopped.
