Hi all!! So we got the hell out of Bangkok!! The place was pretty horrible so we're now in the northern capital Chiang Mai, it's really nice here, much smaller city, the people are great!! We got here after a 14 hour train ride, which wasn't as bad as it sounds, although I never knew how big this country actually is!!! We rented mopeds the first day....I crashed into a car!! I'm grand though, didn't hurt myself though, except maybe my pride, the lads slagged me all night about it!! Got in an awful state then, drinking this stuff Chang beer, its 6.4 percent, and we were drinking it by the pint bottle....we stumbled down this little strip of bars and the following happened in no particular order...Conor went around taking down any flag in the bar that wasn't a Thai flag, Brian beat everyone he played in pool, I played pool and Connect 4 with a Chinese prostitute(I won the pool but she destroyed me at Connact 4), we told them the music they were playing was rubbish and Me and Monty decided we were going to be DJ, but the only CD we knew was Rod Stewart, so we played that "We Are Sailing" song at least 3 times!! Fell out of the place around 2 in the morning when they tried to lock us in!!!.....Very hung over yesterday after that!!! We had to change hostel and we landed in this place recommended by Conors brother Peter, rented mopeds and set off up a mountain in search of waterfalls to swim in....didn't find any, but we did find the Royal Thai Summer House! Today we went off up the mountain again, heading toward the summit, took a turn down a dirt track and we found a small coffee plantation and had a cup of their stuff served by a tiny old lady, talk about your random adventure!!! Best coffee I've ever had! I'm the first one back to the guesthouse and as I walk in the host(ess) ( (s)he is a local transvesite/transsexual called Sarah, has stubble but camp as a row of tents) tells me she knows Conors brother, he stayed in the same room we're in with his girlfriend last month and shows me an email Peter sent to her saying she should try and find us!! You really can't go anywhere! Sarah has told us shes going to cook dinner for us tonite and bring us out drinking, should be interesting!! I'll fill you in on the results later!!! Until then...
