My Bolivian experience started in La Paz...but i dont think too much detail is needed for this part. I stupidly checked into one of the biggest party hostels in La Paz which is right around the corner from the other huge party hostel. Straight away i made friends with some crazy Irish that were set on partying themselves no just through la paz but through south america and i joined the band wagon for 4 or so days. I saw hardly anything of La Paz, which i´m not over proud of but I have plans to get back there.
By the time i got out of there (the hostel someone described as a bolivian version of hotel california), i was quite sick. I was very sick actually and had a throat infection and fever. A scottish guy i met there left with phenomia so i count myself lucky. There is quite a strong scene like that all through Peru and Bolivia. Hostels that are set up just for backpackers looking to party and La Paz is very much a focal point of that. Its not a scene that I like though and i wont be returning to it (so dont fret mum).
I slept for a couple of days in Sucre and popped plenty of pills and I was right as rain again. Sucre was nice but didnt seem to offer me much just a resting point. For me it was just another town.
Potossi my next stop though was beautiful. I loved my time there.
