k im a wee bit behind on the blog, but its been crazy busy so far. I finished my inca trail a few days ago and it was the best experience of my life. It was physically demanding w the altitude and the ever changing weather and the climb. We hiked about 45km but we got up to 4500m above sea levels and the air was so thin, you walk one step and you were panting like a dog lol. But it was mentally challenging cos, physically you know u can do it but it was taking it one step at a time and every time you climb a huge flight of stairs thinking you were at the top and it would flatten off there was another flight of stairs double the steepness, but you just had to keep on going! The scenery was amazing we past many inca ruins, we went through the cloud forest were you were so high up you were walking in the clouds it was awesome. There was lush green forest and areas of vast rock formations we saw the lot. So our tour started off exploring Cuzco the heart of the Incan empire. This city is so pretty with crowded houses on the hillside, there were lots of markets and souvinir places were we did some shopping. But we totally had to be careful in Cuzco cos within an hour of us being there our friend got her wallet stolen. The did the classic spit and grab trick. Someone spat on her arm to distract her, and she was wondering wat was on her arm, when two old men came up to her and squashed her and grab her wallet, it was pretty crazy, we didn´t know what was going on until it was all over. On the second day of our trip we went to explore sacred valley and some villages, this place is so lush and green and really fertile, there are heaps of farms esp corn which they export to Japan. We went to the ruins of Sachywaman and Pisac, love pisac totally awesome ruins, we climb to the highest point and got some amazing photos- We stayed the night in Ollantaytambo, which is a cute wee tourist down and we watch the sun go down over pisac while having a few beers at a restaurant which was not for profit and gave all its profit to supporting local women it was real nice. Ok will blog about the start of inca trail soon, getting bored and gota go explore la paz more lol
ok so the inca trail. Day one was fairly tame, nice and easy trek to help us aclimatise to the altitude, we started our journey at km 82 and took a group photo at the start.
