Good day to you all!
Hope you are all well, and safe!
kept on my toes this last while. which means that time has flown! I has been great.
We had yet another long weekend, just gone. We hadnt decided on what we wanted to do, and then we got an offer to go with 2 of the girl teachers to go to one of their villages and look around. In Malay fashion we were told one night, so we packed our things and headed off. We were in the car and they said we were stopping along the way at the smaller water theme park in Ipoh. That was good fun, it was tiny with only 4 slides a wave pool and hot springs but we had fun running in the RAIN!!! classic. They even paid for us to get in! so nice! then they tell us that we are also going to Pangkor island for the second night... Arhh 2nd nite?? ok lucky i had packed extra clothes... just in case! so we ended up at Zurins house at about 8pm in Lumut, we got to meet her family, and basically the whole village drove past to see the white girls, oh and we are soooo pretty and cute, just like barbie! OH MAN if i have to hear that all the time i would go mad.
So after that we went out and found a night market, love those things! and introduced them to iceypoles, which we soon learnt they call icecream malaysia! up untill only a little while a go they didnt have icecream our way! ahaha! worked it out now!
the next morning we left at 7.30am to head for the island. it is a no car zone, only taxi and bikes. so we took the ferry over and got a taxi to our room. Oh yeh and they paid for all of that as well. We were so spoilt!
we only stayed on one side of the island, but it was nice. though we missed out cause on that island is a mini Holland, but hey we were with the girls, for liss than $10 aus we went snorkling for however long we wanted and toured the small sorounding islands. The fish were amazing, the swim as close to you as they can get and no matter how hard i tried to hit one swimming they are to smart!
yes i did try to. we saw the massivest rainbow fish and so many other beautiful ones. i was so cool,
that day Kirri and i walked away as burnt as one could be, i have the perfect white line of my bathers! but i must say how awfully brown im already looking without even trying!
The girls also bought us a mug each with pangkor written on it, and many meals were paid for. I could even get them to take a little bit.
We headed home and stopped at several little towns along the way, one being the town of the home of the king of that state. Yes you heard me, king of a STATE. sucked in to him, we had a look at his muesem with his things from old passport, gifts form other kings and his cars. oh and our friends got in free for taking us. Ah hello we asked to go!
Anyway,we got hom at around 7pm driving through storm after storm. Past crash after crash.
Then Kirri and i had just both finished our showers when the power goes out! yes it was out for 2hours. What an experience! i have decieded if Malays dont have some sort of gadget going they mite melt. So for example if they had a car or moped the were driving, with as many people stuffed into/on as possible. EVERYONE was on the road. it was funny!
after we went to check things out we went and talked to the form5 girls, being so close to our age its fun to talk to them. Then when the light cam back on we went to bed, to find, THE GIRLS BACK IN OUR HOUSE, the new teachers had finally moved out on the weekend but had got so scared they moved back in for the night! what a laugh, but now they are gone! HOORAY.
so this week i have picked up a heap more classes so im now dont have so much time to waste! so nice!
so now i can actually d things and not get bored! woop! loving teaching the young ones and the old ones, just not the in between! ewww lol!
Well i think thats all from me!
Love to you all! thinking of you stax, but not regreting this ! glad im not stuck home working my year away, JOKES not...
