(13 October)
After a 4/5 hour bus journey (where we watched unknown with liam neeson...pretty good!) we arrived in Sihanoukville, which was pretty awesome just for how chilled out it was! We stayed in a hotel with a bar/restaurant and pool, it was so nice! The weather was a bit iffy, warm but really cloudy, but at least no rain! After some food there wasn't much sun at the pool so we headed to the beach. There were so many people selling things, we ended up getting our legs threaded. The people were hilarious, so rude I can't believe they ever get customers (but then, it worked on us!). They basically take all the hairs off your legs using just a bit of thread. It seemed like a great idea when she did the tester bit as it wasn't sore, but once she started going for the whole leg it was so painful! Especially round the ankles!!! Don't think I'll he doing that again, although it did work very well.
After that we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner, where I made the stupid mistake of taking my malaria tablets on an empty stomach. I hadn't had any problems at all so far, but oh my god I was in so much pain. Thought I was going to pass out and be sick everywhere at the same time! So I downed about a litre of water, and the guts of a packet of crisps that Bom gave me, and that kept me alive until I got dinner in me and it was fine after that! Never again!!
Speaking of Bom, he was crazy that night! Had been drinking since lunch and was steamin, then kept downing what must have been at least triple whiskeys. We were all just like oh my god! It's not like we were all drinking like, it was just him being crazy on his own haha. Mental. We had a BBQ dinner which was awesome but not as big as I wanted it to be lol, was lovely sitting on the beach though. There were kids selling fireworks and spinning them round their heads, mental. Bom produced some barbecued snakes on sticks, and we all tried some. it didn't taste like much, just really really crispy. After dinner we all went for a few beers (it's still kind of amazing me how easily I've slipped into drinking beer) at a bar. It was quite nice as we hadn't done anything like that before really. There was some really cool fire spinning people which was fun to watch.
Was a lateish night by our standards haha, home at about 12...I am so hardcore these days!
