Roadside appeal or absolute water frontage either description would fit most of the real estate in Venice. The buildings are old but still very serviceable and all built on smallish islands joined by bridges just large enough to let the gondolas and speedboats through. Its odd to see power boats all moored along the canals instead of cars parked there.
