An artists impression of the old town of Olympia with the Temple of Zeuss in the centre and the playing fields, stadiums and training facilities laid out around it. Unbelievable that the games were held for 1000 years in this area. Beside the town you can see on of the rivers which eventually caused fierce flooding which covered the town with silt and debris.
