Nuremburg winter of 1945
This photo from a local museum display shows the absolute destruction of Nuremburg during World War 2. Rebuilding of the city was still on going into the 1960's and as can be seen it must have been a mammoth task. The twin towers of St Sebaldus Church can be seen in the distance and quite often these tall spires were used as reference points in cities to identify selected areas to be bombed. The city today has been lovingly restored to its former glory with building styles from yesteryear and we are thankful that the history of the area has been preserved for future generations.
