The Hercules statue and plinth are just in view on the hill at the rear of the gardens. This is the focal point from the chateau looking back. In the middle the stone wall contains fountains in the arches and is duplicated on the chateau side of the grand canal which crosses the gardens at 90 degrees to this line. The canal is hidden at the end of this garden section and is accessed by wide stone steps leading down to the path alongside the canal.
