LEGOLAND DEUTSCHLAND - DAY 1
We all slept exceptionally well in our castle room and after a hearty breakfast we headed over to Legoland. To call it huge is an understatement of the century. We spent all day there and still haven't seen everything. Good thing we have a two day pass so we can finish it off tomorrow.
We started with the Temple X-Pedition a ride that involves you shooting laser guns at different lego constructions to accumulate as many points as possible. I had to most points. What can I say, I'm a crack shot with a laser gun.
Next we went on the Jungle X-Pedition. This ride involved water and a big drop at the bottom. I'm sure you can see where this is going. We all came away from the ride a little wetter. Still worth it though.
After that we went on the ride Pirates' School. This is a new variation to the old pirate ship that rocks back and forward. This one however, goes sideways as well. Totally awesome. We then wandered through an underwater tunnel and observed all the different fish.
The girls wanted to visit the wild plains of Africa, so they jumped aboard their jeep and traveled around spotting various lego animals on the Safari Tour ride.
Aquazone Wave Racers was next on the agenda. This involved standing in an enlarged jet ski shaped boat and steering in and out to avoid people trying to wet you with water guns and water bombs in the water. Great fun.
After that we braved the Project X - Lego Test Track. It's a very cool roller coaster. There were two more roller coasters that we went on later in the day. Each one was individual and unique. Then we ventured onto the extreme Techno Tea Cup ride. We spun around so fast that Angelique was squashed between Grandad and me and we were on one quarter of the seat with the rest of the seat empty. Excellent.
We went on ride after ride and every time they were different. It's obvious that a lot of time and effort has gone into the attractions here. The whole day was just brilliant. We all came home with sore feet and collapsed on the beds for a small kip to help us cope with the amount of walking we did today.
