In 1978, Julie and I were fortunate as high schoolers to visit Hawaii on the way back from Tokyo, Japan where we had performed with the Lions of Michigan All-State Band. We were in Hawaii for only three days, and loved every minute of it! We were married in 1982, and always said we would return to Hawaii some day.
