I thought we'd walk to the bus stop this morning, completely forgetting quite how far it was. D'oh! As a result we were dripping in sweat & dying by halfway. However a break with a 'rude' BK breakfast (yes, more Western food!) enabled us to crack on & catch the bus the whole 40mins down the road to Alajuela. Unfortunately, when we got there, none of the taxi drivers knew where our hostel (Casa Tago) was. So we had to wander the streets until we found an Internet cafe to look up directions. They didn't help though & we wandered around getting hotter, sweatier, tired & more annoyed as we asked copious people for directions, all of whom (including the police!), seemed to point us to different places. Eventually we found the place though, more by stumbling across it down a back street than by the assistance!! We checked into our gorgeous room, showered & went out to the supermarket as we decided that for the first time in weeks, we'd (well Rach!) cook for ourselves. Luckily Rach hadn't lost it & did a sterling job. The rest of the evening was spent watching films as there wasn't anyone else around. (Everyone had said to us to skip through Costa Rica quickly, but we've actually thought the country & the people were lovely, so who knows what Nicaragua, Honduras & the rest of Central America will be like).
