We were up at 2am this morning when the thunder (& lightning) woke us up, shaking our room. Luckily, the storm passed the island by & headed inland. However it did hit Roatan, where we were 2 weeks ago. So yet again, we leave a place & something happens to it (ie. Chile - Volcano erupted; Bolivia - worst snow storm in 20 years!) Countries are gonna start not letting us in seeing our wake of destruction we're leaving!! Anyway, after not sleeping so well, we didn't get up until 11am & as the rain was on & off today, we just spent the day relaxing at our place. Me doing the blog & Rach reading up more on business. By the evening, we'd had a couple of beers & headed out for an early dinner, only to find the island pretty much deserted. The waiter in our reasonably posh restaurant informed us that when tourists hear the word storm or hurricane, they normally flee the island in droves. Hmmm! Not sure who's the smartest? Us for staying as we watched the storm's path closely, or everyone else for b*****ing off. We decided to cycle back to ours for cards & a few cheeky ones before nipping out to see if anything was happening as it was Saturday night. The first time I went out, it all seemed a bit dead still, but when I nipped our later, the nightclub was open & quite full. However Rach wasn't up for going out in the end, so we left it there.
