I think it was half past midnight by the time we had got way out of Paris and back up to cruising speed past Orleans on the peage again - this is better :)

well we stopped just before Paris to get some fuel, coffee and to swap pilots... just in time to experience the Paris periphique. Which of course was where the hards yards were won (and doesn't she keep reminding me about it!). 1030pm local time saw us enter the madness of the periphique after the sat nav had taken us off the main road (due to roadworks and congestion) some way outside of Paris. We went past Le Bourget Airport and through seemingly side streets a...

landed at 7pm and zipped onto the peage... empty wide open roads means we're making good progress in the fading light (we're in France!!)

arrived at Dover - cloudy but warmer than Gloucestershire already!! Early enough to arrange for a sailing in the afternoon. Realised that original sailing at 1030pm was going to be too late for us.

Ok we're all packed up and ready to go! We've managed to make a good getaway.
