Nile River Explorers, Jinja, Uganda
Hello All!
Heres to my first blog entry! Arrived safe and sound in Uganda after a fantastic long journey. Ive only been here 3 days but it seems like almost a week. We arrived in Uganda at half 3 Friday morning in the dark so the country was yet to be revealed to us. We took a Rosa bus which was a really cool 1980s minibus. We travelled through Kampala, the capital, as the sun rose revealling the beautiful country which is Uganda! The traffic was an absolute craze. It seems that it is everyones right of way. Everybody was alive with industry, going about their daily routines. Its a very hard working country by the looks of things. We caught a Boda boda to Jinja along the dusty tracks with my arms wrapped around a local...bloody great but quite scary. Kids run along the side of the road waving and shouting musugo, white man as they dont have expressions for mr and mrs. The place we are stopping is a little heaven enclosed which eases us into the country nicely. I have been swimming in the nile and caught a lift on the back of a kayak over the rapids, the small ones any way. I have been running lots and drinking lots too! Also its been pretty heavy. Any way there is a massive queue of people waiting to go on so I send all my love and wish you goodbyes for now. Will update next weekend after going to the sites for the first time tomorrow xxx
