Well. Here we go. I'm starting a blog!

I moved to Bordeaux, France this past September and started a program teaching english to primary school children. I don't know why I didn't think of a blog earlier. I think I thought a.) I would be awful about keeping up with it, b.) blogs were silly and people needed to keep some of their feelings to themselves and c.) I knew France from study abroad so this wouldn't be SUCH a new experience.

I was wrong on many counts. This experience being in France has been very different and I think I have had more culture shock than I realize. At any rate the adjustment has been rockier than I expected. Also, the anecdotes from my job as an English teacher have already been too good not to share (i.e. kids flipping me off, etc...French children are spawns of the devil) that I really should share them! And I know that I will look back and be sad to not remember the tiny details.

So in sum. While I thought I would be totally adapted, I am not. I am having an adventure. Which is what I wanted and what I will document here! Read at your leisure :)
