Hey whats up, Ive been lazy lately with these journal entries, and for that I apologize. Also for those of you who emailed me and who I havent responded to, I'm sorry I've been really busy. Everything here is going really good, I'm gettin to know the city better, and its starting to feel like my home. We just found our new regular bar around the corner from my place. They have 75 cent beers and really nice pool and foosball tables. O and by the way a shoutout to Heisler, happy 21st. I had an interesting weekend, I went to the opera on friday, which im sorry to report was pretty lame. The opera was in italian, and there was a teleprompter in czech so I had no idea what was going on. Someone also told me their was nudity in it, so I thought I had that to look forward to, but it never came. On Saturday I spent the day in the jewish quarter which was pretty tight. It's completely intact from WW2 because Hitler planned to use it as a museum to an extinct race. The cemetery was crazy, I posted some pictures, there were just grave stones on top of grave stones. The coolest place there was the Spanish synagogue, but they wouldn't let me take any pictures. It was just the coolest looking building. On sunday we watched the superbowl which was lame. I hate the colts sooo much, and it was the biggest MI started classes on Monday which have been alrite. My favorite class is Czech Concepts of National Identity. All we did the first day was have a really in depth discussion about the differences between being czech and American, and where all the European anti-Americanism comes from. It was cool cuz the teacher is Dutch and very unbiased. I got into it with this annoying girl who was America bashing. I'm in this modern art class, which has made me lose a lot of respect for Gershenzon. I've come to the conclusion that you can take anything and call it modern art. It's so lame, these guys take pieces of trash and pile them on top of eachother and call it art. My other class is the History of Jews in Bohemia, the teacher is a rabbi from skokie, which is kind of odd seeing as were in the czech republic. His name is Ron Hoffberg, hes a nice guy but loves the sound of his voice. My last class is a central european history class, its been boring thus far but I'm hoping itll pick up. The Poland trip was pushed back to this weekend, so I'm excited about that. Were goin to some salt mines on Saturday, I don't know what they are but someone said they were cool, and Auschwitz on Sunday. Then I'm goin to Vienna next weekend. The following weekend I am staying in Prague but the weekend after that I'm either going to Munich or Budapest. So I am starting to travel a good ammount. Hope everyone is well. Ciao
