Day 7 - February 1, 2014 - Nata to Palapye and the Khama Rhino Sanctuary
It's quite the drive again - we stopped at a city with a Wimpies which provides free Wi-Fi - amazing how desperate we all are for a 'connection'. Sandile and Nykia have to fix the gas leak (again) and it takes about 2 or so hours - again….I ate at the Wimpey's because I cannot think about eating processed meat. Others didn't so when we finally arrived at the Rhino sanctuary; we had a break for lunch before going out…bummer because we are going to be SOOOO late to the Lodge again! The game drive was fabulous. We saw lots of white Rhino's, black Rhino's are very rare. Botswana had just started to populate the area again as 10 years ago - they were so poached there were only 3 left. Why are they poached? Because the Chinese think Rhino horn compound will make their pee-pee bigger and a better sex machine (my words)….are you kidding me?? It ticks me off that they think this way in 2014 and are willing to wipe out a species for it. And they think they are going to take over the world - God help us all. Guess what? We arrive REALLY late to the most beautiful lodge we have been at - Nata Lodge - rooms are huge, beautiful outdoor shower, a standalone soaker tub and so much room. Waaaaa. Went to the bar to meet everyone and have a drink before dinner. Afterwards, I snuck away and had a bath - a glorious bath. OMG, heaven and first one in 2 months!
