JAWS....the documentary.
Everyone who knows me, knows that I am scared of the sea. Scared of what could be lurking below, amongst the unknown. And, to be specific, those bloody sharks!
Normally you think it's just you imagination that there's a shark down below, but where I am going...they're incredibly common. Tiger, whale, hammerhead and reef....all frequent the galapagos waters.
'Well don't go in the water!' I hear you cry? I am only going to visit this magical place once in my lifetime, so I feel obliged to explore the oceanic depths! Even if it's just a snorkelling session or two.
No shark attacks have ever been recorded around the islands, but that obviously just increases the odds for me to be the first!
Reading a fellow travellers blog who have ventured to the same area, I noticed that they wanted to bravely explore below the surf (and did). On their 3rd session of scuba diving a 3m shark suddenly appeared! MENTAL! It pretty much ignored the group but WOW! I would have no idea how I'd react in that situation! Just imagining it freaks me out!
Give me strength!
