We set off at around 10am from Angers to Bordeaux - I was driving this leg!
The drive was around 4 hours (by the time i took a few wrong turns - when tom tom decided to have a bit of a kip). Once again the drive was very picturesque - there was field after field of bright sunflowers, reminded me so much of van Gogh's painting. As we neared Bordeaux we could see Vineyards a plenty!
Our hotel was located in the centre of the City, great walking distance to shops and patisseries - Mr Dickie is thoroughly enjoying his baguettes! We also have a quaint little bar about 200 metres away called Le Mushroom! We've been there the last couple of nights at happy hour and there after!
We had a beautiful meal (where all the locals seemed to be) at 10pm - there was Escargots, Calf's head, duck in honey followed by Creme Brulee and Profiterols - absolutley gorgeous - forgot to mention the lovely bottle of Bordeaux Rouge!
On Wednesday we head off to Lourdes stopping off at some Vineyards on the way so will keep you all posted.
Hope you're all well, if its any consolation it's been raining here today
With lots of love - Mr & Mrs Dickie
