Last night at home my wee friend!!
Even though we're sooo excited to be going on our travels, our last night at home with Dexy the dog is always a wee bit on the sad side. The minute the cases emerge from the dreaded eaves you can honestly see his head go down and a gloomy, depressed look appears on his face :(
Still, he has one last night before kennels and he's been getting spoiled with all the stuff from the various dog selection boxes he got from santa so things could be worse. I should say, it's also pretty obvious that he secretly loves kennels by the way, because while I stand blubbing at the place he always turns his arse on me and runs, tail wagging, towards the girl who works there - not that loyal but I'm glad he likes her!
So back to the travels.. The main thing is that all our cases are packed and waiting for us in the hall, we've weighed them (on our tesco value barhroom scales) and they're actually about 8kilo UNDERweight - miracles do happen it seems (or we've been too cheapskate with the scales) and we're good to go.. At least I hope we are - just heard that Jules who is taking us to the airport has fallen down a pothole :O Fingers and everything else crossed that she'll be ok (not just because she's providing our lift obv.)
So our plan of action for tomorro? Up at a very civilised 8am, shower etc, Dex to kennels at 9.30 and then we drive to Neilston for about 10.45am. Neilston by the way is where K's car is going to live and where Jules lives..so all being well we'll get a lift to Glasgow Airport in time for the 1pm flight to Gatwick were we'll spend the day beautifying ourselves at the Sofitel before our flight to New Orleans next day! Ah this, i'm afraid, is why we work (and also why we don't wear designer clothes, why our roof is letting in water and why our bank balances aren't particularly healthy - experiences trump material things every time!).
