Hi this blog is being written retrospectively and when completed the link will be passed to everyone who has got the time to read it.
Dermot and I go back some 34 years and we trained together at Bexley Hospital along with Barry Moulton, which is why this trip is happening. Barry moved to New Zealand some 22+ years ago and his eldest daughter, Fiona is getting married on Saturday 9 January 2010.
We have decided to attend the wedding via Bangkok(3days), Sydney (1 day), Papakura (9 days), Melbourne (6 days) and Dubai (3 day).
Following a night duty at my place of work I go and grab some sleep at Dermot's, but have to get up at midday to get some bulbs for my car as I am driving to the airport. We watch Birmingham City make mincemeat of Man U, which makes me feel that the trip is going to be a sucess from the word go.
We leave for the airport at about 3pm and get there at about 4:45 pm after driving through a few snow flurries, nothing bad though. We parked the car at Purple Parking at a very reasonable 82-50 for three weeks, but unfortunately we were assualted by a racist diatribe from the bus driver on the way to Heathrow, which was very embarrassing.
Left Heathrow at at about 9pm heading for Dubai (our stop over) - I managed to fall asleep before the plane even took off.
