friday good flight from Auckland to sydney then onto singapore, meet at the airport by a driver from tour east ,the company used by trailfinders over here. the guy should have worked for the tourist board, all the way to the hotel he was tell us the history, places to visit, where to eat, to enjoy the short time we were here. the hotel is excellent (the park royal on beach road) and not too explensive as long as you stay out of the bar. the drivers first suggestion was the indian temple in china town as per picture, we went this morning, one of the condititons of entry was to remove our shoes. the temple is a tremendous piece of architecture and history, time well spent, unfortunatley upon our exit we found that my brand new hotter sandels (bought specially for the hols at a cost of 60quid and never off my feet for the last 7 weeks had been perloined nicked stolen, b*****.so had to walk around the town looking for a shoe shop, I am sure people would have given me money as i looked destitute.china town was a revelation of the senses, smells and sights,by this time I had obtained some new footwear so the smells were not mine.onto orchard road ,a barrage of designer shops and shopping malls, but time did not allow too long. onto raffles hotel, singapore sling in the long bar, peanuts and all,it would be a lovely place to stay at the hotel but i imagine very very expensive as itwas 13 quid each for the drinks. now waiting for the car to puck us up for the airport. tonight we will be in langkawi, as norma has counted, this will be our 23rd different bed whist on hols, maybe we could get jobs as bed testers.....
