we stayed in te anau for a couple of nights. a good journey with great views as usual. on tuesday we took the day to milford sound. it is one of the most stunning journeys you can take, a coach took nearly 3 hours to get to the sound,a 2 hour cruise around the sound followed then the journey back. no words that I know would do this place justice....also the weather was sunny,cold but bright. travelling to dunedin for last 2 nights on south island. looking forward...

went on the whale watch and saw 6 sperm whales surfacing and diving also about 24 dusky dolphins playing also an osprey, all in all a good morning , the only downside was that the day before a blue whale had been seen and recorded. before we left kaikoura we were advised by a local to do the trans scenic rail journey if we had time, so when we arrived in christcurch we went to book , the ticket office had been closed for about 30 mins but they opened up to get us...

before we left picton we went on the mail boat around queen charlotte sound for 3 hours calling at all the outlying places on the islands, quite interesting to see how people are so isolated even though they are only a boat ride away . wew arrived in kaikoura at lunch time, sorted the accomodation out and then we booked onto the whale watch cruise for tomorrow morning leaving at 6:15, we should see the sunrise. for something to do norma suggested we did the sceni...
