The next museum and probably the most famous on the island is the Vasa ship museum. This is a raised galleon style ship similar to the Tudor Mary Rose ship that was raised in the early 80s in England.

I have no idea why I didnt come here on my last trip. I was on much tighter budgets back then. The ship was raised in 1961 and they show some of the story how it was raised.

There are four viewing levels. Most of the original paintwork has eroded.

Also interesting at the end the exhibit takes you thru a video gallery where it shows you contemporary events from the same period such as Baghdad and the Indian Mughal Empire.
