It was now past noon and I was finding many of the museums closed today for the May 1 holiday. I found the Stockholm City Museum on Sodermalm Island just south to Gamla Town which was also closed. Heading back into the town centre I went exploring some of the unique metro stations some more before heading back to Central Station again.I was heading to Gamla Town to check out some museums left over. The King Gustav wing of the palace was closed for restorations. The Nobel Museum was also closed today for the holiday.I went in the old town church as I hadnt been and it was the only thing open on this public holiday.

Last stop today on Djurgarden Island was the Skansen Open Air Museum. I timed this last as the tourist office told me there would be a Spring Bonfire Festival after 9pm. However it doesnt get dark till 10pm making for a very long day.There are similar outdoor folk heritage villages in Norway as well as Korea and some other countries.
