สวัสดี (Hello)
Well... we've made it! We arrived in Thailand, save and sound!
We left yesterday from Hamburg Airport around 19:35 to Frankfurt, and from there we had a flight straight to Bangkok at 22:50. We arrived in Bangkok at local time: 15:00. We were so happy to leave the plane, but first we had to go to this basement in the airport to check all the passports and visums and stuff, which took almost 1 and a half hours... way to long! We were worrying about our luggage because it would keep going in circles and it might get stolen. The guy assured us that everything was fine and that it was taken care of, but of course we weren't so sure... but guess what, there were 2 people guarding our bags, which was perfect! Everything was fine!
Still not realizing how hot it was (the airport was fully airconditionized, however you write that), we left the airport and went outside. WOW! Palm trees, blue sky, super warm (but in a nice way) We enjoyed the sun for a couple of minutes, and than we were taken to the hotel in a couple of minivans. It was a very bumpy crazy scary car ride of more than an hour. By the way, people drive on the left side of the road here, something I didn't know!
We were all expecting some crappy cheap hotel, but where we arrived was amazing! A sort of spa hotel, very nice and big! Great rooms, with a bath, very big beds, big living room etc... A big pool on the roof and also a jacuzzi, there's a gym, a sauna, steam baths. But first we went for a shower and some dinner in the hotel. Everything was taken care of which was nice. We wanted thai food, but this hotel only had a european menu which was a pity! So I had rare steak with ovenpotatoes with sour cream and a tuna salad which was all very nice and fresh. Of course quite spicy but that's how I like it :-)
And than.... the pool! When I got there, some of my collegues were already swimming and enjoying the jacuzzi. It was so nice, the temperature outside was about 28 degrees, and no wind, bathing outside, going into the jacuzzi. We took some pictures and played around in the water like little kids! All the stress was gone (but will be back tomorrow). We could really enjoy everything that was happening! For almost everybody it was the first time in Asia! Very special!
I managed to get an internet password because normally you have to pay for wifi. Thank god I have reception of the restaurants wifi and just needed a free password, so that's why I'm already able to send you guys a blog and some pictures! Which is nice, because in 2 two weeks so much will have happened that I would have forgotten about the last 2 days!
I'm gonna go to bed because tomorrow we're being picked up at 8 in the morning (it's half past 11 in the evening/night right now) to go to the ship! Safety drills, instructions, a tour, rehearsals, costumes, runthrough and than the show in the evening around 10! Earth Wind & Fire is gonna be our first show! Very scary but so much fun to finally perform again!!!
And good news, since a month or so, they also have WIFI on the small ships of Aida (Aida Cara is one of the three 'small' ships). I mean, it's crazy expensive but at least I'll be able to go online once in a while which is perfect!!
Have a nice evening and speak to you soon!
Kissed from Bangkok!
