Well, my ten days in Cambodia have definitely been an attack on the senses! It's hot, humid, dusty, crazy, busy, emotional and sad and incredibly welcoming!
When I first arrived in Siem Reap, I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Their driving is crazy! They don't abide by any driving code, they fit as many people as they can onto a moped (six is the winner at the moment!) and they drive against the traffic until they can get into their own lane.
The people are so friendly and happy which is overwhelming when you think of their recent history. I was incredibly moved when I went to Tuol Sleng Prison and the Killing Fields and saw what the Khmer Rouge did! And it was hard to comprehend that it happened in our lifetime too!
Lazy Beach was a little piece of heaven and definitely needed to catch my breath and recharge my batteries before my last stint of my trip!
It's my last night in Cambodia tonight before heading into Vietnam then I only have 2 1/2 weeks left! It's amazing looking back on my photos and remembering all the things I've done. You really live in the "now" when you're travelling and easily forget all the amazing things you've done!
So, it's 22 December - only three days left! Happy Christmas to you all and I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year (well, apart from the Aussie contingency but we won't leave it too long til we catch up again!)
Lots of love
xx
