20th - Another long and boring journey to Finca Ixobel (the ranch) today. We have decided that we are going to stay here for 4 nights as crossing the border to Honduras and then back to Guatemala is going to be almost impossible. To tell you the truth I can´t say I am that bothered. It was going to be another day of travelling to see another ruin. Seriously I have seen enough ruins to last me a fuc*ing lifetime.
On the way to the ranch we stopped at some hot springs. It was like taking a hot power shower, the first hot shower in a few days that many of us have had!! It was great but I had mascara on, the non waterproof type so I looked a mess but hey ho. Really you can´t be shy here, don´t know how many times the boys have seen us in our bikinis now, had to get it all out on the first day. At least we are not pasty white anymore. The fishes in this place keep biting me, it feels like a little nip, wee bas*ards, why does everything feel the need to bite me - mozzies and fish!
So to keep up with tradition we got very drunk again. We always seem to do it after we have spent a long time in the van, not sure why but it works for me! The ranch seems really cool as well, you can go horse riding and do jungle hikes and stuff. They also have table tennis which me, Ang, Robin and Steve seemed to spend the whole night playing. With a bottle of wine obviously! We then had to walk through a forest in the pitch black for about 5 minutes to reach the bar, it´s so surreal. I am very glad that the boys, and Ang for that fact, seem to be more prepared than me and brung a torch. Think we left the bar about 4am, they write down everything you drink then you pay for it at the end of your stay, I won´t mention the amound of voddies on it!
The ranch is really cool. The rooms are little sort of hut things with hardly any light. Doesn´t sound good but never stayed anywhere like it. We have a shared bathroom as well which is outside, obviously under cover, it´s a lot of fun. Didn´t think I would like roughing it but got to wash my hair everyday so I was happy
22nd - You are not going to believe this - MORE RUINS AGGGHHHH. To be honest though I did really enjoy myself today. I thought it was doomed as I had forgotten to take my trainers and only had flip flops on, then it started to rain and we were walking through the jungle!! Luckily the rain stopped and the ground wasn´t too wet so managed ok. The tour we had lasted about 4 hours. We climbed three massive pyramids, at least I am getting some decent excercise at last. The views from the top of them were amazing.
So since no one was too hungover we decided to start drinking again. The boys blame Ang and I and say we are the catalysts for most of the drinking. Just as well we are there really, it wouldn´t have been nearly as much fun without us. Went to the bar again, think we had about 14 voddies, some G & T´s and beers on our bill. Left the bar and went to watch the stars, sounds sad but they are amazing here and I even saw a few shooting stars. The night didn´t quite end there but my mum reads this so better watch what I´m saying ha ha. Only kidding mum, I wasn´t as bad as Lynn so don´t worry!
23rd - Had a bit of a lie in today as we have a free day at last, oh how I love my bed, the late nights and early mornings were really beginning to catch up with me. I also decided I would do 2 hours horse riding today. Was praying that I didn´t end up with p**** blisters on my arse like Steve got. Apparently the saddle was too small but I think he must have an odd shaped arse The horse I had was a lazy mother fu*ker. It just followed Katrinas horse while randomly stopping to eat. I tried kicking it as hard as I could to no avail. It did start galloping a couple of times and I nearly shat myself. I couldn´t pull the reigns to make it slow down as I was too busy holding on with both hands to the saddle. I thought I might have died at one point but I made it back in one piece. As much as I enjoyed it I won´t be doing that again in a hurry!
Believe it or not we had a quiet night, we need to get up early in the morning to go to Belize. We seem to be having one night on, one night off. The off nights aren´t really off though as they still involve conuming one or three beers!
