Easy walk - only about 1 1/2 km away, but we had to walk along Broadway to get there ... so onerous!! Amazing seeing Times Square along the way and again the buzz of the place is great. Well here we are in New York after a full day of travel. We left our apartment in quiet Amsterdam this morning at 7am, travelled via Zurich and arrived here at JFK just before 4pm, left on the shuttle about 5.15pm and got to our hotel about 6.45pm + 6 hours, so, a long day!!! (First school I saw after landing was 'Our Saviour Lutheran School'!!! :-) But ... All is great!! We have 2 Irish Pubs directly across the road from our hotel, The Empire State Building ...

Anne Frank's house was amazing to see this afternoon, after reading her diary when I was about 13. Being there was very sobering and moving. From there we sauntered down past our place for a drink. Farewell cheers from the little bar up the road, on our canal, Prinsenstraat!!! Xx

Last day in Amsterdam!!! Today we have visited the Rijksmuseum and also the Van Gogh Museum. Amazing to see so many iconic paintings in one day!! We are now in the queue to go into Anne Frank's house, just a couple of blocks from our apartment. We've managed to pack a fair bit into a short time here and can't believe that our 2 months in Europe will be all over tomorrow!!! We'll have dinner at a little cafe close to our apartment tonight and be at the ready to ...
