Has a cruisey morning with a quiet walk into the centre of the town (only 5 minutes walk!) and an espresso and yummy things at the Boulangerie just down the road. We then took the kids to the Somme Museum, here in town. It was amazing!! It's a museum set in the air raid shelter tunnels used in WWI and WWII, but what got me was that they were constructed in the Middle Ages so people could flee from marauders!!! So these tunnels were over 500 years old!!!! Just mind blowing! Anyway, it was great - full of lots of interesting things with scenes set up with mannequins along the tunnel recesses - very well done. After lunch we set off for the VB sound check. It went very smoothly and
wasn't too full on. The place is abuzz with technicians, production crews and TV crews doing their grabs for the lead up stories. We had 2 of our kids interviewed by Channel 10 today. While all that was happening, Bwian went in search of William John Small, and found him without too much trouble! Here we are under his name. (It's a few rows down from the top). We have ordered a posy, so Bwian is going to lay that at the public wreath laying at the end of the service for William John Small (missing from the Somme) and William Wesley Osland (missing from the 8 June 1917 Yeper offensive). Very special that he can do this. Our seats are in the VIP allocated section which is to the right of centre at the front as you look down to the podiums in front of the tower. We're directly in front of the right side podium. 7 hour rehearsal tomorrow!!! Lets hope we don't all fry! It was hot and sunny this afternoon!!! Had another concert tonight in Peronne at the opening of a new photography exhibition at the museum. Again standing ovations and an encore. The kids are just wowing them!! All great here with our fabulous kids! Xx
