Deb's Adventures
We started off this morning around 7:30 on our mystery tour. Our first stop was Denver International Airport to drop my Mom off. She flew home today after a very pleasant 5 day Thanksgiving visit. We left her around 9am and got on I-70 and started heading West. Eric has been very secretive about the trip so I have no idea where we are headed. The funny thing is, he had to study for a phone interview later in the day so he asked me to drive for a while. It is very strange to drive towards an unknown destination.
We arrived in Glenwood Springs around noon and went to the Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company for lunch. We had a great time tasting their beers and talking with the staff. At 1pm Eric had the world's shortest job interview. The company he applied with want him to move to Denver and he said we weren't willing to do that. He may end up on their on call list which would be fine for now.
After lunch we wandered around town for a while and then got back in the car. About 40 minutes later we pulled into a little dirt driveway with a sign pointing towards hot springs. Eric announced that we had a cabin rented for the night and we are staying here. This place is awesome. There are a few antique barns and 15 cabins and a hot springs area with 4 pools on the side of a mountain. We were greeted by two Golden Retrievers so we felt right at home.
We got settled into our cabin and hit the hot tubs. What a beautiful setting. After a very relaxing soak in the springs we headed back to our cabin for a quiet evening. I cooked dinner. We drank wine and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. There is no internet, cell phone service or tv here. It is like Heaven.....with spring fed hot tubs :)
